“Over the past couple of years I have been more conscious of my lower face, emerging jowls and deep marionette lines. I felt they aged me & were making me look tired… even pulling my eyes down slightly & making me look quite drawn.

Clara advised me that this is very common in women over 40 and we discussed treatment options. It was more than I have had done before but it was necessary in order to really lift the area.

I trust Clara implicitly and her knowledge of facial anatomy really shines through. I could instantly see the results & looked fresher straight away, which was lovely. After two weeks when everything settled I couldn't have been happier. The brief was always subtle and fresh and as always, Clara delivered just that, she really is amazing.”

I know that lots of you already follow Lyndsay – and if not, you really should – her makeup and fashion tips are fantastic and she's a great brand ambassador for Aspire. As a professional makeup artist, Lyndsay's face is up close and personal on camera a lot and (like many of us) a few changes had begun to bug her. She came to see me in June for a little refresh and treatment on specific concerns, which I addressed with 5ml of Merz Belotero dermal fillers (1 teaspoon in total!) to:

  • add subtle lift to Lyndsay's lower face
  • reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds
  • smooth marionette lines
  • open up her eye area
  • replace some lost structure.

Here's exactly what I used where – and more importantly, why…

Adding Structure

Cheeks are almost always my starting point for fillers. Treating cheeks has a direct effect on the face as a whole, from nasolabial folds to jowls and the eye area. Using a cannula, I began by adding 1/2ml (each side) of Belotero Volume – a dense, heavy filler to add structure and support to Lyndsay's lateral cheeks (the outer cheeks along her cheek bones).

This allowed me to clearly assess what was needed next.

Replacing Volume

Moving on to malar area of her cheeks (the fullest, ‘apple' area), I injected 1/2ml Belotero Balance – a lighter filler – below each eye (not in tear trough) – to reduce her nasolabial folds and replace some of the fullness in her cheeks, where we all lose volume as we age.

Increasing Definition

To create balance and symmetry, I treated Lyndsay's lower face by injecting 2ml in each corner of her jawline and 1/2ml via cannula along the outer edge of her face, lifting pre-jowls and replacing lost structural support.

Smoothing

We finished off with anti-wrinkle treatment in 3 areas (frown lines, forehead and crow's feet) to give a nice softening around Lyndsay's eyes and a very slight lift to the arch of her brows.

Even though she already looked fabulous before, we were both thrilled with the final result, which reduced the appearance of lines that had bothered Lyndsay for a long time, while giving her an overall fresher look with a little extra volume and definition.
